To help children and young adults living in extreme poverty, and to promote a healthy, safe community.
Helping since 1991
We were founded in 1991 by Barbara Hofmann to help children who are in extreme poverty, abandoned from the effects of war, orphaned, or victims of HIV.
As ASEM (L’Association Pour Les Enfants de Moçambique - The Association for the Children of Mozambique) our sole purpose is to raise funds and awareness about the plight of the children in Mozambique.
ASEM is made up of four physical school centres (Pre-K through high school) that provide food, education, and skill training to over 6 000 children and young adults in the Sofala region of central Mozambique:
The Manga, Macurungo, and Gorongosa (currently closed) schools are in Beira.
The Majianza school includes a preschool and is located in the city of Vilanculos.
All monies raised are directed to help these students living in extreme poverty and to promote their stable development through a healthy, growing, and safe community.
